Referral Terms

We are a referral service

The Furnace Freaks connects homeowners with independent HVAC contractors and technicians ("providers"). We do not perform heating, ventilation or air conditioning work, and providers are not our employees or agents.

Your agreement is with the provider

Pricing, scheduling, workmanship, warranties, permits and payment are agreed directly between you and the provider you hire. You are never obligated to hire a provider we refer.

Licensed and independent providers

Work that requires a license under Michigan law, including gas piping, combustion appliances and venting, refrigerant handling and HVAC wiring, is referred only to providers who tell us they hold the required license, and we check that license when they join. Work that does not require a license may be referred to independent providers who do not hold one. Before work begins, you should confirm your provider's license (if required) and insurance.

How we are paid

Matching is free for homeowners. Providers pay us a fee for referrals. That fee does not change what you pay your provider.

No guarantee

We take reasonable steps to vet providers, but The Furnace Freaks does not guarantee any provider's work, availability or pricing, and listing in our directory is not an endorsement. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for work performed by providers.

Emergencies

If you smell gas or suspect carbon monoxide, leave the building and call your gas utility or 911. Do not use this website to report an emergency.
